Just a couple of weeks later Eddie received another short letter in the mail from Sacred Heart Hospital dated Jan. 22, 1925 telling her that she was accepted into the Nursing program.
So on July 6, 1925 Edna Lorraine McDonald entered into the school of the Sacred Heart Nurses program in Spokane, Washington.
Something tells me that this document below came with the acceptance letter. The document seems to be the rules for entrance into the program. She would be on six weeks probation when she entered the school. She must be of average height and in good healthy condition and dentistry should be done before entering the school. It goes on to tell about the supplies they need to bring.
In Eddie’s day the student nurses had to stay in dorms has a condition of attending the school.
Here is our pupil, Edna or Eddie, ready for class. Actually they probably called her “Mac,” a family nickname used for my father Keith, her brother, and my mother Marjorie, Eddie’s sister-in-law.
