The time had come for Eddie and Jean to graduate from high school. The Cheney Yearbook of 1925, which I think was the first published, shows Eddie and Jean together on the same page. Jean was younger by a year and they skipped her ahead. In Jean’s later years, she mentioned that this being “moved ahead” was not a good idea?

It is interesting that everyone had a nickname. That was not true in my high school. The sayings for each were amusing. Byrna

Nicknames are a big deal in my family. I was called Swede till my hair turned from blonde to brown. Vivian was really Leola Vivian. Miriam would be called Mimi. Jean was really Laurie Jean and Gordon was Ronald Gordon. Mom and Dad were both Mac. She was Boardie till she married. Edna Lorraine…too formal she was Eddie to me. Sandy was another name for my grandfather. So I am not surprised but these nicknames were probably all made up just for fun and maybe for the occasion? Anyway it looks like they had fun.
