John was better known as “Jack” by his many friends and family. He lived till the age of 80 years old and is buried in the St. Thomas Cemetery (part of the Forest Hill Cemetery group) in International Falls, Minnesota next to his wife Sarah Maria Burns a local girl from the area of Chichester and Chapeau. Sarah came from a very large family as presented by Elaine Brown in her research – Murtagh Byrns and Sarah Grier Descendants.
Jack and Sarah had a rough time building their family. I have only been able to find three names of children born to them but apparently there were more, maybe 5 that did not survive. Keith had the pleasure of knowing one child that survived to adulthood. Her name was Mary.
I was very intrigued to come across this site. My great-grandmother was Mary-Jane McDonald, oldest child of John (brother of Archibald, according to Nellie’s chart) & Julia McDonald. Although her brothers & sisters made Nellie’s chart but she didn’t. I also have different last names for Julia. She sometimes has the last name Record (Ricard) or Lecure (Lecare) but I have not found Tebeau. I no information on John’s family so was thrilled to see the information posted. I have never been able to find John & Julia’s marriage. I certainly have more areas to research.

Diane: I have long wanted to share these charts in hopes that it would help others and me as well. I did not have luck with Julia’s last name in the St. Alphonsus Church records. I found a Julia LaCour in the area and wondered about her. That looks close to your Lecure name. I find it spelled Tibeau in the census. It has been a long time since I looked at the siblings of Archie. So you think that Mary Jane was their daughter? I don’t see a Mary Jane on the chart for John? That is okay, I feel this chart is a lot of guesses on Nellie’s part who was my great aunt. She did her best. Yes there is always more research to do. I am hoping to travel there next year.
